Summer Stylin'

Its safe to say that Summer is definitely here.... (it certainly is in Dubai anyway!)... which can only mean one thing. Summer wardrobe.

Obviously living in a hot country.... we can wear ''summer clothes'' pretty much all year round.... BUT during our cooler season we are able to cover up a little bit more...allowing us to feel cool and summery but still respectful of the country's culture by not baring ALL our skin.

With temperatures now reaching 40 degrees and higher.... I'm certainly finding it harder and harder to want to put any sort of clothes on in the morning.... let alone clothes that keep me covered respectfully and yet still show that I do have some sort of style and fashion sense. I basically either end up boiling hot but stylish.... or looking like a complete idiot but rather comfortable.

Finding a suitable outfit for work during these stifling temperatures has quickly become the bain of my life at the moment. Dresses cant be too short. Shoulders cant be out. Tops cant be too low....and so basically any dress that is suitable for work..... means that I end up pretty much looking like a 50s housewife. Yay. NOT.

With this in mind.... its fair to say that I've been doing rather a lot of mall visiting recently and hunting out suitable work clothes for the summers heat...



Going bare legged is definitely the answer during these summer months.

Keep it smart with a fitted simple skirt and pair with a thin slouch top...this  keeps things smart... yet casually cool for these rising temperatures. Much better than a stiff work shirt.

Trousers get shorter....

 OK so shorts are not suitable for office get up... but trousers that go as short as the knees are perfectly suitable and still smart. Work them with a simple tee... which keeps this outfit light but still respectable. Add a simple cardi or jacket for when indoors and back in the air conditioning.... and accessorize with a big necklace or statement bracelet... for that added finishing touch.

White on White..

There is no rule book that says that office clothes must be dull and black black black. White is the perfect summer colour... and OK jeans may not be acceptable in some offices... but good cut white cotton... or even linen trousers are (as long as they are not too casual). Wear these with a shirt or light pull over and your sorted. Accessories can be kept to a minimum... but as the picture shows - a tan belt just breaks up the outfit enough to not make you look like a snowman.  Can just picture some gorge tan heels with this outfit...and I would be more than happy to go straight out to the bar after work sporting this...

The right fabrics.

Its all about choosing the right materials for your clothes in these temperatures. Personally anything chiffon suits just fine with me, its super light and practically feels like you haven't got anything on at all. Super. One  black chiffon skirt can provide a number of outfits when mixed with a number of statement patterned shirts. I'm loving this leopard print look... just need a chiffon skirt that's closer to knee length for my office though!

What about outside of the office? Well... that's where we really can play around with our clothes. Yes, Dubai does have its restrictions but they also realise that it is bloody hot and so...its not as bad as y'all think.... some skin is allowed to be showed.... here's some of my summer fashion loves......
