Living the Dream

The weekend just gone has literally reminded me AGAIN of all the reasons why I love Dubai.... and why I upped and moved here in the first place...Yes, I miss my family and friends rindoculous amounts.... but when you have had a weekend like I have just had.. you will understand why I stay put here !

Thursday night started of with pre drinks at mine... it had been a while since we had got on the sauce and so we were a wee bit tipsy after only a shameful 3 voddies each.... shots were quickly followed though...*opps*

 

 

We eventually made it out to a club at about 12:30am ...and then I bumped into an old friend of mine and his friends...and so we all somehow ended up at another club to finish off our evening!

It was a rather drunken night to say the least, but even so....  I was up SUPER early and calling my friend to get up for our day out.....

ROLLER BLADING!

We made our way over to the tracks...and put on our blades..... there was an awkward moment (or two!) when we realised we had nothing to hold on to, to actually get up into standing position again(blades going in every which direction)...but after a slightly embarrassing move on to all fours and then on to each foot... one by one, we were up and standing and ready to blade.....

...obviously with it being our first time.... we also then realised that we were on the wrong track and had stumbled on to the red path (for walking) instead of the blue path (for cycling/blading) ... but we quickly moved over and found the blue track to be much more blade friendly..

Clearly we couldn't miss out on a good photo opportunity ...but this also proved a bit of a task as we couldn't actually keep ourselves from rolling away while trying to pose....

Luckily....a kind stranger could see our struggles at multi tasking our balancing skills while trying to pose for a photo... and so he offered to help take a few snaps for us......

 





It was such a beautiful day, and so we just went up and down the track for about two hours, taking in the views and soaking up the sun.... AND actually... once we got going, we were fine and even started to pick up some speed!



There was no better feeling. Here I was... with my friend... rolling down the tracks on the beautiful beaches of Dubai. Just a major WOW moment. I just couldn't help but feel overwhelmed at how this is actually my life... I am literally living the dream.

This has totally opened my eyes up... I mean there is just so much to do here and I  really have been wasting too many weekends laying in bed suffering with hangovers. Dubai is more than just endless bars and clubs.... and I am ready to start exploring!

Be prepared for BBQ's, camping, Go - karting, shooting and lots more to come and I will be sure to recommend where to go..... one thing is for sure though.... roller blading is my new favorite hobby and I will definitely be hitting that beach every weekend from now on....
